Merry Christmas and Happy Hijri year

Christmas usually takes place on the 25th December of each year, ten days after Muslims new year (Hijri) and five days before the European calendar 2010.

What is the difference between the two dates?

Christmas is said to be commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, though many studies had proved that 25th December is not the exact birthday of Messiah.

On the other hand,Hijri year marks the immigration of the prophet Muhammad (Peace been upon him). The word Hijri is derived from Hijra which means immigration in Arabic.

While the world will celebrate the year 2010 with the usual fantasy, Muslims didn’t spare a Jiff  to admire their own new year 1431.

Wouldn’t like to be pessimist, but it seems that Muslims have to run 579 year(2010 -1431=579,check it .I’m not so good in Maths) to catch the rest of the world. So funny isn’t it? Some of us will not even be able to make  the lap of 100 year.

Anyway,Happy new Hijri year and Merry Christmas!!!
